Jr. Holy Name

Jr. Holy Name is open to all St. Anthony students or parishioners grades 6-12

The purpose of JHN is to promote respect for the Holy Name of Jesus; develop spiritual lives; and to encourage performance of Christian service. It is a faith based group that focuses on service projects as well as activities to promote social and spiritual development.

The third Sunday of each month, unless otherwise noted, is our Youth Mass. JHN member are asked to wear their JHN shirt to Mass and sit together as a group. Families are welcome to join us.

Some of our recent service projects are caroling at the nursing home, Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army, raking leaves for our senior parishioners, serving food for Catholic Charity’s 8th Street soup kitchen, helping with St. Anthony Giving Tree and St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Drives, serving dinner at the Senior Center in Lorain, and making cookies and placemats for the Kairos Prison Ministry. Last year we baked over 1,500 cookies. Social activities included a day at Kalahari, bowling, Sky Zone, sawdust rugs during Lent , and bi-monthly meetings held after school. All activities, service and social are decided with the members so each year’s activities will vary.
